Explanation of the drawings, note in figure 1 that the
circuit may be used with NPN, PNP, other transistor types, and various
vacuum tube amplifiers. Strictly voltage sensitive amplifiers that permit
no bias current through the amplifier require the additional bias resistor
R(W) which is otherwise optional. The central broken lines indicate that
not all RC groups are depicted, the actual number of groups will depend on a
variety of circuit parameters and can be made adjustable by switches across
one or more groups. Ordinarily R(1)=R(2)= ... =R(K) and C(l)=C(2)= ...
=C(K). Although the generic symbol for capacitors is used here,
electrolytic or polarized capacitors may be used. Their polarity will
depend on the type of amplifier and power supply. Note in figure 2 that the
size of the correction wave generator may be smaller since the duty time is
much shorter.
